May 2026

From the Desk of the Executive Director and Principal

If you’ve been following the story of MBCI through the last several years, you may already know that we’ve been experiencing steady growth in student numbers. In 2021 – 2022, MBCI had 393 students. For 2026 – 2027 we are looking at 630 plus students, which is an historic high.

This is an exciting trajectory for us! We have worked hard to implement the best of what we know about how students learn and grow, and to tend carefully to the “soil” in which character and faith are able to take root.

Focus on Project Based Learning

MBCI incorporates a Project Based Learning (PBL) approach across grades and in every subject area. Projects are a student-centered, inquiry-based approach to curriculum engagement through which students apply their own curiosity and hands-on problem-solving skills to real-world questions. Learning may incorporate all the elements of a project, or in some instances specific PBL characteristics like “voice and choice”, service component, or public presentation. Learning this way helps students grow in their ability to communicate, collaborate, and think creatively and critically.

MBCI’s Middle School Takes the Stage with Moana Jr.

Our Grades 5 – 8 students set their sights beyond the reef with MBCI’s second middle school musical on February 26 – 28, 2026. Our students and staff “plussed up” the experience after the initial success of Into the Woods Jr. two years ago in the drama room, and took our production of Disney’s Moana Jr. onto the big stage in Jubilee Place. The cast enjoyed four sold-out performances of the lower section of JP and had audiences on their and clapping along.

Once a Hawk, Always a Hawk
Staying Connected Through Alumni Reunions

There’s something special about coming back together with classmates who shared such formative years at MBCI. Alumni reunions are a meaningful way to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the friendships and experiences that continue long after graduation. Whether it’s been 10 years, 30 years, 65 years, or more, we encourage alumni to stay connected by organizing a reunion gathering for their class!
