June 2010
At the beginning of our 2009-2010 school year I wrote that I was excited and looking forward to another rewarding year. I sense that the year has been going well. Our new teachers have adapted very well and they will all be back next year. Our students are working hard academically and have done well. We have won a provincial championship in Volleyball and numerous other awards athletically and musically. I am pleased to see how our students have reached out to our broader community in the various events that were planned this year. I shared our theme verse, Colossians 1:10: “And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” This year I have seen our school try to “live a life worthy of our Lord.” Teachers and students have looked at how MBCI can make a difference by putting others before ourselves. I am thankful that God knows what is best for MBCI and am confident that he will guide and sustain us for this important last month of this school year.
In June we as a school will have several opportunities to celebrate. This has been another very good year and many students have worked hard and deserve recognition. Following exams we will recognize individual achievements at our Academic Awards assemblies on June 28 and 29 and our graduates will be honoured at the Farewell Banquet on June 22 at the Fairmont Winnipeg and at the Graduation Exercises on June 24 at North Kildonan MB Church. I am looking forward to meeting many of you at these events.
I would like to thank each of you for your support and prayers that have helped to make this a successful school year. As the summer approaches I wish you a relaxing time away from the normal routine of the regular year. Our graduates will move on to new, exciting endeavours as they press on to the next stage of life. I look forward to seeing many of you back at MBCI after a restful vacation.
