Devotional            Day 1   THURSDAY, September 23rd, 2010

Fisheyes

Matthew 4:18-20 ~ As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him.

Today, we’ll be watching the presentation fisheyes, as presented by Jason Hildebrand and Don Tjart. Fisheyes is a series of scenes with disciples Peter and Andrew, and their witness to the gospel story. The scenes are very humorous, as they present the perspective two fishermen would have on Jesus and his ministry. There are also many opportunities for reflection, and the more serious side of things - in the feeding of the 5000, through the crucifixion and resurrection, and more.

Prayer:

Dear God – Prepare our hearts for a different take on your Gospel and the message it has for our lives. Soften us to hear what you want to tell us today.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen
