Devotional                          Day 5   Monday, September 13, 2010

I Timothy 4:15-16 ~ Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

“One Round Tuit.  This is yours to keep. Ask your teacher to make copies if you like. Make as many as you want. Cut it out and keep it!

Guard this with your life. Never lose it and don’t let anyone take it away from you. These tuits have been hard to come by, especially the round version. But there are now enough to go around, and the timing couldn’t be better because the demand has been overwhelming.”

At long last, many of your problems concerning things you’ve been putting off can be solved. You will no longer have to tell people, “Now isn’t a good time.”

Today is a good time for anything. You have finally gotten around to it. As you have often said, “I will do . . . . . .such and such . . . .when I get around to it.”

There’s always a penalty for procrastination. Procrastination is the act of putting off intentionally (or by habit), something that really NEEDS to be done.

What is the thing you’ve been putting off, saying you’ll do it when you get a round tuit?  Well, your teacher now has a round tuit that you can have if you want. Why don’t you use it!?  Let’s quit waiting to to get around to it and do that one thing that you’ve been putting off, do it today!

Prayer:

Dear God – You ask us to take advantage of the day that is before us. It’s the day that you’ve made. We don’t know what tomorrow will hold, so give us courage to do the things we should, today.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen
