DEVOTION Day 3, September 18, 2009
Someone once said, “Most people spend more time planning Christmas than they do planning their lives.” Today we’ll be discussing goal setting. You were asked to start thinking of some goals last week in the first SLG. Have you thought of your goals for this year? Goals help us dream big, but we also need an action plan in order to accomplish our goals. Go ahead, make some goals and plans for this next term.
Here are some quotes to help you dream a little bigger:
- Above all, try something. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt
- If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astonish ourselves. ~ Thomas Edison
In the Bible, there’s a verse that reads, “Commit your work to the Lord and then your plans will succeed.” Once you have your goals and plans made, commit them to God – ask Him what He thinks. You see, “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” ~ Proverbs 16:3, 9
Prayer:
Dear God – Help is to dream big. The potential that you have put in us is tremendous. Help us to believe in ourselves – You have created us and You have given us strengths that only we have. Thank you!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen
